BIOHAZARDOUS

This group included sharps and waste that has been contaminated with body fluid, and microbiological cultures. This type of waste must be placed in special medical waste bags, managed, hauled and disposed of by a licensed medical waste hauler for your state.

Sharps
“Sharps” is a medical term for devices with sharp points or edges that can puncture or cut skin. Commons examples are: needles, syringes, lancets, auto injectors, infusion sets and slides.

Red Bags
MediWaste’s biohazard bags are manufactured to meet and exceed States and Federal standards. They are properly color coded, impervious to moisture, and tested to preclude ripping, tearing, or bursting. All of our bags have exceeded the 165-gram dropped dart impact resistance test prescribed by Standard D 1709-85 of the American Society for Testing and Materials.
